Gina Fonseca* (WITCH, Huntington Theatre Company; OUR DEAR DRUG LORD, Zoetic Stage) performed as Nest in Clutch Productions' THE INHERITANCE OF A LONG-TERM FAULT
- In your own words, describe your current production and how you identify with the piece? Do you have a favorite moment?
The Inheritance of a Long-Term Fault dives between a mythological past and the present world that is in conversation with one another. While the mythological past is faced with a 'prophetic giant,' the present follows a female geologist pressured by societal structures. Without giving too much away, my favorite moment is when we experience both worlds at the same time. - Who is the audience for this show - and what would you like them to walk away with?
The show is for all adults. It does have a strong female point of view, and I am particularly excited about that. I just hope people leave the show having dynamic conversations about history, expectations, societal roles, humanity, etc. - What is your favorite moment or line in the play?
"Everything yellow is not gold Nest, and those yellow flowers are making her fart." - Who are your collaborators and how do you like working with them?
The cast also includes Gabra Zackman, Christianne Greiert, and Craig Wesley Divino led by Mêlisa Annis. Also, the biggest shoutout to our stage management, Kristine Schlachter and Chelsey Scott. We are all super silly and the play is funny, but it does take a turn. So, our silliness has been a crucial ingredient in our rehearsal process. - What are you most proud of with this production?
I am incredibly proud of our team and our fearless leader Mêlisa Annis. We have created an epic with such ease and fun. Even when faced with creative challenges, as an ensemble we have embraced the process and trusted the journey. I'm really excited to share our work.
